Our Beginning

Hi! My name is Jacque, and I am the co-founder of MamaLady, along with my husband, Brandon. We are a children's clothing company specializing in bamboo pajamas. When we got married, we never dreamed of running a children's clothing company, let alone bamboo pajamas. We had actually never even heard of bamboo pajamas.
With my first daughter, money was tight so I would buy whatever I could afford. I tried finding the cutest prints and for the most part I did, but the fabric was cheap and never as soft as bamboo. The worst part was, she was outgrowing them so quickly that it felt like I was throwing money in the trash.
Fast forward to 2020, you know, the year Covid-19 hit, lives turned upside down, and the year most of us would like to forget. Except that was a very special year for us. We welcomed our daughter, Brielle, into the world just one day before Covid was declared a pandemic. The first few months, Brielle would literally cry all day and night. We didn't know it at the time but she was allergic to milk protein, soy, had colic, and a severe case of acid reflux. Pair that with being stuck in our house 24/7 due to the pandemic, you could imagine how depressed it made me. Along with that, my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OCD, skyrocketed and spiraled out of control. (That's a whole nother story but still essential to beginning our business venture.)
I needed something to do, something to focus on. So, I learned to sew. I watched a few videos online and dove into the rabbit hole. I eventually upgraded my sewing machine, bought a serger and coverstitch machine, and started selling children's clothes. Finally, I had a hobby that let me get out of my head.
Eventually, the depression and OCD got better, but so did my sewing business. It became so popular that I wasn't able to keep up. Once I started to consistently go over my turn around time, I knew I had to make a change. I sadly closed up the sewing business and was back at the beginning.
However, I still longed to channel my creativity and passion for designing children's clothing. This led me to the realization that my love for choosing quality fabric and creating adorable outfits did not necessarily require me to sew them myself. Inspired by the comfort and joy that bamboo pajamas brought to our family, I decided to venture into creating my own line of adorable and soft bamboo pajamas.
I received fabric samples from dozens of bamboo manufacturers but always came back to the manufacturer that I had been working with for several years. I knew their quality, I built a rapport with them, and I knew I could trust them.
In June of 2024, we sold our first pair of bamboo pajamas. The response was overwhelming, and our business took off, paving the way for an exciting new chapter in our journey as entrepreneurs.
